Weathered Dock, Port Renfrew

This photograph was taken in Port Renfrew, BC, an isolated community on Vancouver Island. The pictured dock was formerly operated by the government, but ownership transferred in 2002 to the Port Renfrew Community Dock Society, which maintains it on a non-profit basis. (A new government dock and and safer-year-round marina were built in nearby San Juan Harbour.) Currently the Dock Society installs wharfs for summer-time use only, and maintains it for local users as well as tourists who walk pedway.
